SUITLAND – Prince George's County homicide detectives have arrested six people in connection with the death of a homeless man at the Suitland Liquor Store Tuesday morning.
According to Cpl. Nicole Hubbard, a spokesperson for the county police department, police and fire units responded shortly before2 a.m. for a report of a stabbing in the rear of Suitland Liquor store on the 4600 block of Huron Ave.
When they arrived, they found a man who has been identified as Amos Milburn Jones suffering from multiple stab wounds, Hubbard said.
“County paramedics pronounced Jones dead on the scene,” Hubbard said.
Within eight hours of the incident, detectives from the county homicide unit arrested six individuals who all provided statements admitting varying degrees of involvement in Jones’ death.
According to Spokesman Lt. Bill Alexander, police believe an argument led to the altercation, but could not release any details because detectives are still investigating.
The six suspects have been identified as: 18-year-old Jose Eduardo Menjibar-Alaman, 20-year-old Oscar Alberto Parada,, 23-year-old Jose Irving Guzman Dominquez, 18-year-old Jose Martinez Serrano, 18-year-old Almicah Sergovir and 17-year-old Katherine Abigial Lopez.
All six are charged with first-degree murder.
“This is a senseless crime that needlessly ended a man’s life,” said Chief Mark Magaw. Such blatant disregard for any member of our community is deplorable. I’m grateful to our officers and detectives for quickly closing this case.”
A source close to the case said some of the suspectsare confirmed to be members of MS-13. They are being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
