Bowie High School Boys’ Soccer Head Coach Frantz Deetjen calls them a “three-headed monster.”

The trio known as “J.I.M.,” in reference to their first names, have been wreaking havoc on their opponents this season. The group scored 37 of Bowie’s 49 goals this year and helped lead the team to 10 regular season wins and a county championship. However, a state title is the ultimate goal for the Bulldogs.

The striker, whose scoring touch has tormented defenses 23 times this season, struggled to find the one shot required to give the DeMatha Catholic High School boys’ soccer team the lead in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) Championship.


Laurel boys use two first-half goals to knock off DuVal

A wonder-goal by Thang Tuang proved to be the deciding factor in the Spartans’ 2-1 opening-round victory on Oct. 27.


Bladensburg girls stun High Point in first round of soccer play

Rosa Jimenez 2BELTSVILLE – The Bladensburg girls’ soccer team managed only two wins for the entire 2017 regular season and earned the final seed in the 4A North Region bracket.

Very little was expected of the Lady Mustangs heading into their first-round match against third-seeded High Point, who soundly defeated Bladensburg 7-0 back on Sept. 25.

How things change in the playoffs.
