One year after it was swept by High Point High School in the 4A South Region title match, the Bowie High School volleyball team attained a measure of revenge last Friday when the Bulldogs prevailed in five sets over the visiting Eagles, 25-13, 25-13, 21-25, 19-25, 15-11.
FORESTVILLE – Potomac High School defensive back David Rose knew he was going to be tested on Saturday against Forestville Military Academy. The opposition paid the price, however, as Rose came through time after time as helped lead his team to a hard-fought 19-18 win in the last game of the regular season.
UPPER MARLBORO – The Henry A. Wise High School football team ended its season on a high note, defeating Charles H. Flowers High School 42-8 to locking up the No. 2 spot in the 4A South playoffs, and eliminate the Jaguars from playoff contention.
FORT WASHINGTON – Vaughn Smith’s final game in his first season as the head coach of the Friendly Patriots ended positively as his team beat the Gwynn Park Yellow Jackets 22-12 under the lights Friday night.
UPPER MARLBORO – Riverdale Baptist found the end zone early and often in the second half as the Crusaders upended the Black Knights of Avalon 33-20 to capture the Capital Area Football Conference championship for a second straight year in front of nearly 500 spectators Friday evening.
