CAPITOL HEIGHTS – Gwynn Park High School boys lacrosse attacker Chrystian Coleman was visibly frustrated heading into halftime. After taking the majority of the team’s 16 first-half shots, Coleman could only muster to score two goals.
COLLEGE PARK – NFL scouts and reporters crowded the indoor practice facility at Cole Field House for the University of Maryland’s pro day on March 28. Talent evaluators from 30 NFL teams quickly jotted down notes throughout the day on 12 of the Terps’ NFL Draft hopefuls, all of whom were aspiring to get one team’s big board.
BALTIMORE – The Fifth Annual Maryland Crab Ball Classic tiebreaker was broken on March 29, at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore as the most notable high school basketball players from Team Washington took on Team Baltimore.

He made it very clear that he would turn around the school’s sputtering men’s basketball team – uttering the famous line that he would make it the UCLA of the East – and quickly made the Terps a powerhouse on the national stage.

COLLEGE PARK – Down by 18 with less than four minutes to go against the University of Michigan on Feb. 24, Maryland point guard Anthony Cowan, Jr. launched a midcourt alley-oop pass, finding an elevated Michal Cekovsky, for the two-handed slam.
BALTIMORE – The honors keep piling up for Bowie State University quarterback Amir Hall. He will be honored in an upcoming event as the College Player of the Year.
