Baysox drop game one to Altoona

baysoxBOWIE – Despite a five-strikeout performance from starting pitcher David Hess, the Bowie Baysox managed just one hit off right-hander Mitch Keller as the Altoona Curve took Game One of the Western Division Championship Series, winning 2-0 in front of 1,238 spectators at Prince George’s Stadium.


Largo dominates Central, 34-0

Although the final score did not show it, this game started off as a tightly contested defensive battle.


Maryland upsets No. 23 Texas on the road, Pigrome injured

AntoineBrooksAUSTIN, Texas - As the third quarter ticked down, Maryland led 23rd-ranked Texas 37-34 in what had been a touchdown fest.

Terrapins quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome had accounted for 239 yards and three scores and was scrambling up the middle on the last play of the quarter. It was then his right knee buckled as he tried to make a cut on a five-yard run.

Now, with Dupree back for his senior season and Lockwood more comfortable at the helm with a year under his belt, the two say the goals for this high school football season are simple: win the 4A class and break every rushing record imaginable.
