COLLEGE PARK – The No. 19 University of Maryland Terrapins held off the North Carolina Central University Eagles in the second half to win 67-56 Wednesday night to improve to 9-1 on the season.
OXON HILL—Despite turning the ball over 25 times, the Potomac High School Wolverines withstood a furious comeback from the Friendly High School Patriots to win 76-68 in front of the home crowd.
SUITLAND – It took Doyin Fadojutimi and the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders two missed game winning shots and a 9-2 to run in the second overtime to come back and defeat the Suitland Rams 69-65 Tuesday night on the road.
Aided by a 22-9 run in the third quarter, Christian Clinton Academy held on late to defeat defending Maryland 4A state champion Dr. Henry A. Wise High School 69-62 at the DMV elite showcase.
GREENBELT – Through two and a half quarters on Friday night the DeMatha Catholic High School Stags and Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders were locked in a defensive struggle, but senior guard Terrell Allen stepped up in the second half to lead DeMatha to a 78-54 victory.
COLLEGE PARK – The University of Maryland Terrapins started off slowly against Winthrop on a dreary Saturday afternoon, trailing 13-4 eight minutes into the game. However, the Terrapins turned the game around and notched an 82-62 win over the Eagles.
BALTIMORE – It took 12 years, but JC Pinkney and his Frederick Douglass High School Eagles captured a long-awaited championship after beating Dunbar High School 38-0 in the Maryland 2A State Finals at M&T Bank Stadium to complete an undefeated season.
