Bowie boys, Roosevelt girls win county soccer titles

Jennifer Santos MSFAIRMONT HEIGHTS – Two 80-minute matches between four Prince George’s County high school soccer teams squared off for the county titles Monday night. Only two teams would walk away calling themselves the best in the county.

Despite having a wealth of experience and seniority with other players, it was time for Brown to step up and become the leader of the offense.

The Wildcats, known for their build-up attack through quick passing, could not find the scoring touch in the run of play. However, last year’s 4A Regional semifinalists have added a new wrinkle to their offensive prowess: set pieces, or designed plays off restarts.


Roosevelt volleyball remains undefeated with win over Bowie

The rivalry has not disappointed in past matchups when the girls have taken the floor, and it was no different this time around.
