Maryland men, women rule NCAA lacrosse world

With less than four seconds remaining, he launched the ball high into the sky. By the time it came back down, a swarm of Maryland men's lacrosse players had rushed to the field, holding onto the NCAA National Championship.

The high school journey has ended for Wise's "Big Three"

Brent PegramUPPER MARLBORO – It can be hard to watch players that share a special bond end their time together.

Some may remember the “big three” from the Boston Celtics: Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo. Each player left the team by 2015 and their departures marked the end of an era.

In Prince George’s County, Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. had a big three that knew each other since the eighth grade and played for the varsity basketball team from 2014-2017.

Parkdale soccer alum, mom aims big in New Salvadorian league

Zulia Menjivar 1HYATTSVILLE - As Diego José Chavarría celebrated winning the league championship with his club soccer team, Santa Tecla, on May 20, his wife, Zulia Menjivar, watched from the stands of Estadio Cuscatlán, cheering her husband on while holding their 3-year-old daughter, Alessandra.

For Menjivar, being a part of the celebration as a footballer’s wife was supportive. She was putting life on hold, briefly, to be with her family.
