WMATA releases derailment incident report

Metro proposes Service Cuts

Metro Station DC 12 2011 00062UPPER MARLORBO – In an attempt to increase train reliability and consistency, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (WMATA) staff has recommended service changes that will result in longer wait times on the Yellow, Green, Blue and Orange lines which Prince George’s County officials say are “unacceptable”.

Metro officials grilled by officials at NTSB hearing

Metro Station DC 12 2011 00062WASHINGTON – Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority officials testified to problems with water leakage and an old ventilation system, coupled with poor communication and Metro’s slow emergency response at a National Transportation Safety Board hearing in response to Metro’s fatal smoke incident in January.

Metro Problems Persist
