Community asks for full resources for students, teachers in PGCPS budget

PGCPS logoUPPER MARLBORO – Theresa Dudley, the president of the county teacher’s union, is furious.

Every year, it seems to her, the most important budget items to the Prince George’s County Educators Association (PGCEA) and to teachers are the first items struck from the budget when the county does not give the Prince George’s County Board of Education all the funds it asks for.

Fairmont Heights graduate sticks it to sickle cell

Anne 01FAIRMONT HEIGHTS – Sickle cell anemia introduced itself to Anne Alfa at an early age.

She was just a few months old when she had her first episode, and even though that first time scared her family to death, they came away knowing one thing: Alfa was a fighter.
