Prince George’s County Police arrested a Capitol Heights man for allegedly beating his roommate to death with a wooden club.
Just after 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, Prince George’s County Police patrol officers responded to the 1100 block of Adeline Way for a reported assault. Upon arrival, patrol officers found Anthony Taylor, 59, suffering from trauma to his upper body.
Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department paramedics transported Taylor to a local trauma with life-threatening injuries. Last Wednesday, Taylor succumbed to his injuries, according to police officials.
County homicide detectives arrested Luke Osei-Kwame, 62, last Wednesday and charged him with first-degree murder and related charges. He was taken to the county detention center on a no-bond stats, according to police.
The preliminary investigation revealed Taylor and Osei-Kwame got into a verbal altercation, which escalated into a physical confrontation. At that point, Osei-Kwame assaulted Taylor with a large wooden club, police officials said.
