A 21-year-old man who was shot June 2 in Largo died from his injuries Friday at Prince George’s Hospital Center.
Police identified the shooting victim as Joshua Mahoney Barnes, of the unit block of Sherman Circle in Northwest Washington, D.C. Prince George’s County police officers found Barnes with multiple gunshot wounds before 1 a.m. June 2 in the 10100 block of Campus Way South, Cpl. Nicole Hubbard said.
Preliminary investigation revealed Barnes and an acquaintance were sitting inside a parked vehicle when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots into the vehicle. Detectives are still determining the motive and working to find the suspect.
A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case. Barnes’ death is the 33rd homicide of 2013 in Prince George’s County.
