A driver faces eight charges related to a two-vehicle collision Monday morning that killed two people.
Ramon Anaya-Ascencio, 35, has been charged with two counts of homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and two counts of vehicular manslaughter. He was taken into custody of the Department of Corrections and held on a $200,000 bond.
According to Prince George’s County Police Department, Anaya-Ascencio was driving a red Honda Accord that crossed in front of a westbound Audi A6 around 7:45 a.m. Monday in the 10800 block of Lanham-Severn Road in Glenn Dale.
The Audi then struck the Honda on its passenger side.
The two passengers in the Honda, Leo Castro, 46, and Jose Rodrigeuez, 30, both of Lanham, were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation revealed alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash, according to police.
