Prescription drug abuse
The recent death of Michael Jackson has focused the world’s attention on the prescription drug abuse epidemic in our country.
Now is a good time to educate parents that their children might be involved with prescription drug abuse.
Often these drugs are passed out or sold at school and “pharm” parties have become popular.
Many parents are unsuspecting until it is too late.
The passing of Michael Jackson is indeed sad, but we must take this opportunity to ensure that this needless loss does not continue to occur.

Health care
Last week, our President gave his fourth prime-time press conference trying to convince America’s working families that “the stars are aligned” for his health care package.
While he is staring at the stars, the rest of us have our feet firmly planted on the ground.
The current administration is applying the same tactic it employed with the so-called stimulus plan by rushing legislation through Congress before members have a chance to read it.
If the current administration was serious about addressing health care costs, why is it holding the same trial attorneys blameless whose frivolous lawsuits force Americans to take a defensive posture with their health care.
Trying to misdirect the public’s attention by tying health care reform to the tired excuse of economic recovery is not fooling Main Street.
American families want to have a choice in their health care without the mandates and top-down control of Government Care.
