COLLEGE PARK – After 12 years leading the University System of Maryland, Chancellor William “Britt” E. Kirwan has chosen to step down from the position, ending a run of more than 50 years of involvement in public higher education.
LAUREL – At a bi-county meeting last Thursday, the Prince George’s County and Montgomery County Councils unanimously approved the Washington Suburban Sanity Commission’s $1.3 billion 2015 budget—including a 5.5 percent rate increase for ratepayers.
