A mix of live music, non-gambling casino action, and other revelry awaits Prince George’s residents this New Year’s Eve. Several venues are hosting events for the holiday that offer a good mix of mellow vibes and massive crowds.
In Greenbelt, the sounds of the Andy Poxon Band will toggle between blues to rockabilly on New Year’s Even from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The music and “New Year’s Eve Special Menu,” featuring a champagne toast, costs $50 per person.
If you’re looking for a bigger celebration, the Gaylord National Hotel will host “Big Night Washington,” which drew 7,000 last year. Fifteen bands and DJs will kick off the party at 9 p.m., and revelers have a choice of multiple VIP lounges and open bars. Ticket prices are $149.99 for main event access and $199.99 for VIP access. The party wraps up at 3 a.m.
After the party, anyone looking for a free cab ride home (within a $30 value) can call SoberRide at 1–800–200–TAXI. The program, which has been in effect since Dec. 14 and will conclude New Year’s Day, operates between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
