SUITLAND – Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker III, joined by U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) another other state and local officials joined together Friday to break ground pm a $37 million construction project to improve access at the Branch Avenue Metro Station.


Md. Students Protest High Cost of Textbooks

A new study shows students at the University of Maryland may be opting-out of purchasing required textbooks because of the high cost.  On Jan. 29 the Maryland branch of Public Interest Research Groups (PIRG) in partnership with the UMD Student Government Association (SGA) held a public rally at the University of Maryland campus in support of so-called Open Source Textbook project.


The Goddard School in Bowie Hosts Open House, Showcases Pre-Kindergarten Class Project Made with TINKERTOY

The Goddard School in Bowie, which opened its doors to the children of Prince George’s County in 2011, hosted its Winter Open House on Saturday, Feb. 8. Current and prospective families were invited to visit the Goddard School and see firsthand the many educational activities the teachers do with the children. The theme and title of the Open House was “Teach.  Play. Learn. Inspiring Young Minds for the 21st Century symbolizes The Goddard School’s commitment to 21st Century Learning.”
