Prince George’s County homicide detectives apprehended a suspect for the county’s eighth homicide of 2013.

Detectives arrested Brandon Anthony Battle, 26, of Greenbelt, for the murder of Salaam Adams, 20, of Durham, N.C.

Adams was found just before 7:30 a.m. Feb. 4 in Oxon Run Park by Maryland-National Capital Park Police officers and Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department paramedics. He appeared to have been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Battle has been charged with first- and second-degree murder. As of Friday, he was in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
