BOWIE - As cities across the nation marked the 35th anniversary of National Night Out, Prince George’s County communities chimed in to celebrate a night of music, food, and community in 60 events that were hosted all over the area on Aug. 7.

BOWIE – The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) Internal Affairs Division and Criminal Investigations Division are currently investigating a shooting incident that involved a Bowie police officer.

HYATTSVILLE – Starting on Thursday, May 10, the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) will begin the first rounds of the state baseball playoffs, culminating in a trip to the finals at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen on May 25-26.

BOWIE – The Bowie Baysox were undoubtedly happy to see the Akron RubberDucks leave town on May 6. 

SEABROOK – In the race for the District 6 county council seat, two political neophytes are challenging the sitting incumbent, Councilman Derrick Davis. District 6 includes Forestville, District Heights, Kettering, Largo, Mitchellville as well as unincorporated areas of Bowie, Capitol Heights,and Upper Marlboro.

BALTIMORE—The Akron RubberDucks made life tough for the Bowie Baysox last weekend, sweeping a three-game road series.

BOWIE – Following an extensive and passionate public hearing on April 9, the Bowie city council voted to continue with planning a new two-sheet ice rink while investigating options to keep costs down and look for potential sites for new athletic courts.

BOWIE – Having the bases loaded in the ninth inning is a dream scenario for most hitters and a possible nightmare for pitchers. However, the pitching performance by the Bowie Baysox rotation against the Harrisburg Senators on April 8 was nearly unflappable.
