Gators end Bladensburg’s state championship dreams

DanielOladapo5COLLEGE PARK – Bladensburg Boys' Basketball Head Coach Antonio Williams walked by each one of his players, hugging them before they received their Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) State Finalist medals. As he accepted the trophy representing second place, the rugged Williams lifted it over his head and presented the prize to all the fans in attendance.

A crushing loss in the 2017 Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) 3A State Finals anchored the Wolverines throughout the 2017-2018 regular season campaign in hopes of earning a second chance at championship glory.

Lady Raiders drop Lady Clippers in county championship

Despite holding the Oxon Hill girls' basketball team to only seven points in the opening quarter, his Lady Raiders did not fare better, only scoring two points via free throws in the same time period during the Prince George’s County Championship on Feb. 22.

Alexander Jones MSSILVER SPRING - A holiday high school boys’ basketball matchup took place at Springbrook High School during the Ed McGeoh Holiday Basketball Tournament between Friendly High School and Howard County’s Reservoir High School on Dec. 27.
The dynamic duo of Donye' Moore and Grant Okolo combined for 26 points which helped lead the Gators to a 54-42 victory.

Mike Jones MSHYATTSVILLE - The DeMatha Stags are known for their dominance in sports throughout the state of Maryland and all over the world.   As for basketball, there are four current NBA players that attended DeMatha, including the first overall pick from the 2017 NBA Draft Markelle Fultz. Despite losing remarkable talent every season, DeMatha continues to be one of the best basketball teams in, not only Maryland, but the entire country.  This season, DeMatha’s boys’ basketball varsity team is off to a 7-0 start and look to continue their rule at the top.
