PGCC men falls to Cecil College to end winning streak

LARGO – The Prince George’s Community College men’s basketball squad came into its Nov. 30 contest having won three of its last four games, while the Owls’ opponents, the Cecil College Seahawks, had lost three of their last four.

A combination of missed free throws, bad fouls and lousy defense cost the Owls on their home court, as they lost 91-89 to end their two-game winning streak.

Cancer survivor graduates high school in three years with a degree

AHSStudent 02LARGO – Alyiah Ellsworth has a determination to never give up that even cancer could not defeat.

When blood started running down the back of her throat during a presentation her freshman year, cancer did not even cross her mind. Despite vomiting blood, Ellsworth thought it was allergies, or another symptom of the sinusitis she had been diagnosed with several times over the past month.
