Quigley severely headbutted, fight ruled no contest

LAUREL – Raymond Serrano headbutted Gerome Quigley in the first round of a fight on June 16 at the Garden Ice House in Laurel. Both fighters came out for the second round, but it was evident that something was not right with Quigley. He kept rubbing his glove over the top of his head as blood ran down his face.

Mike Reed suffers first loss

One was to fight his first 10-round fight, while the other was to fight on TV.

Reed achieved both of his goals, however probably not in the fashion he would have liked.

“Swift” Jarrett Hurd retains title via knockout despite deep cut

hurd barklays 1 tomcasinoSHOWTIMEBROOKLYN, NY – On two occasions, the ring side doctors looked at the deep cut to Jarrett Hurd’s left eye caused by two head butts and ruled that he could continue.

The two busloads of Hurd fans, and the 7,643 fans in the Barclays Center stands, were holding their collective breaths as a stoppage due to a head butt meant the winner would be determined by the scorecards – and at that point it was anybody’s guess as to who was winning the fight.
