DuVal girls win by slim margin

DuVal’s girls’ basketball team slipped by Wise in a 43-42 game that went into overtime to determine a winner. The two players’ impressive play pushed the Tigers to the next round of the playoffs.

Parkdale knocks Bladensburg out of playoffs

Parkdale’s girls’ basketball squad knocked off Bladensburg 47-36 in the first round of the 4A South playoffs. Kareema Conteh led the Panthers in scoring with 15 points, and Ijemoa Ajemba accounted for 14 points and 17 rebounds in the lopsided victory.

Boys’ playoffs begin

The State Basketball draw for the boys’ division was held Feb. 17 at Long Reach High School to determine the playoff bracket pairings. The first round of playoffs was held Tuesday, and the winners of that round advanced to the quarterfinals Thursday.
