First Team

Devin Butler, Frederick Douglass High School

Douglass quarterback Devin Butler took the 2A division by storm. In his first season in an Eagles uniform, Butler used his savvy demeanor and leadership to guide his team to the state 2A championship game against Middletown. Unfortunately, the Eagles lost, but Butler was remarkable down the stretch. Butler finished the season with more than 1,400 yards and a division leading mark of 16 touchdown passes. He was also considered a dual-threat — rushing for 324 yards and four touchdowns.

Wesley Wolfolk, Suitland High School

Wesley Wolfork led the Suitland Rams to a successful season, ending just two games shy of appearing in the 4A state title. The Rams were known for their physicality and their commitment to the running game. Anthony Squire rushed for more than 1,000 yards this season with the help of Wolfork’s consistently accurate throws. Wolfork threw to open up the run game with 1,776 yards through the air, and he boasted the second highest quarterback rating in the division. He also was a dominant force on the ground — amassing more than 280 yards. He also scored seven touchdowns. Wolfork made a pivotal play in the first round of the playoffs against DuVal when he broke off a 58-yard touchdown run to close the gap in their victory.

Isaiah Black, Henry A. Wise Jr. High School

Isaiah Black had one of the most productive statistical seasons at the quarterback position this past season. Black has made strides in his style of play that led the Pumas to the 4A state title game. With the state final against Quince Orchard on the line and time dwindling down in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, Black delivered. He threw a 23-yard pass deep near the back of the end zone to clinch the Pumas’ first championship win. Black threw for 1,000 yards and also ran for 697 yards on the ground. He also combined for 19 touchdowns in his junior season.

Antonio Washington, Potomac High School

Potomac quarterback Antonio Washington finished his final year on top. Throwing for more than 1,500 yards, Washington asserted himself during his senior season by topping the 2A division in passing yardage. He also led his team to an 8-3 record. Washington’s best performance of the season was during the fourth game when he torched Great Mills, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns.

Honorable Mention

Jay Adams, Gwynn Park High School

Robert Harris III, Surrattsville High School

Jordan Green, Bowie High School

Jarvis McClam, Laurel High School

Jovantae Sheard, Northwestern High School
