Two Clinton house fires in 12 hours have left several residents displaced.
Prince George’s County fire investigators are investigating the two house fires that occurred just a few miles apart. The first fire was reported just before 2 a.m. Sunday in the 6900 block of Killarney Street in the Keyser Estates of Clinton. The second fire was reported around 3 p.m. Sunday in the 5800 block of Sumter Lane, said Mark Brady, chief spokesman for Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at the first fire as flames were extending out from the top floor of a two-story, split-level house, Brady said. All of the residents made it safely out of the house. Fire crews brought the fire under control within 15 minutes, and no injuries were reported, Brady said.
Firefighters at the afternoon fire found flames coming from the first floor of another two-story, split-level house. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish the fire, officials said.
No one was injured and the causes of both fires are under investigation.
