Prince George’s County police officers found a man and a woman dead inside their Laurel apartment Thursday.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, patrol units responded to Montpelier Crossing Apartments, located in the 9600 block of Muirkirk Road, to check on the welfare of two individuals.
“When patrol officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an adult man and woman suffering from multiple trauma to their upper body,” said Julie Parker, Prince George's County Police Department spokesperson. Both were pronounced dead, Parker added.
Police also found a disabled woman inside the apartment. She is the daughter of the deceased woman. She was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, but she was not injured, Parker said.
Police were called to the scene by a caretaker who comes to the apartment to care for the daughter.
A relative of the deceased man, who was on the scene, told The Sentinel that she had just spoken to him Wednesday night and everything was OK.
“He was a great person; he will have everyone over for crabs, he was just a great person,” she said. “I can’t believe this happened.”
