Baysox shut out Mets, 11-0

The Bowie Baysox defeated the Binghamton Mets 11-0 on Aug.26. Bowie Baysox starting

pitcher Ed Rodriguez earned his third win of the season. He pitched eight innings, struck out five batters and only allowed two hits. Trayvon Robinson helped lead the Baysox offensively with three hits and three runs. Catcher Caleb Joseph scored two runs as well.

Mystics top Dream, 85-80

The Washington Mystics defeated the Atlanta Dream 85-80 on Friday. Washington Mystics forward Monique Currie led all scorers with 15 points, and she also racked up two steals and two assists. University of Maryland alumna Crystal Langhorne added 10 points to the scoreboard, too.

Baysox All-Star

Bowie Baysox catcher Caleb Joseph was recently named to the 2013 Eastern League Season Ending All-Star Team. The team is voted on by Eastern League managers, coaches, sportswriters and other members of the media. Joseph is the first Baysox player to be named the season ending All-Star team since designated hitter Joel Guzman and second baseman Ryan Adams received the honor in 2010.

preparation for his fight against Chris Arreola on Saturday. The 12-round bout will take place at the

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif., for the WBC Silver Heavyweight Title.
