Perfect season continues for Wise
Wise shut out Parkdale 52-0 — marking the Pumas’ seventh win of the season as they inch close to a perfect season. Chase Powell ran for 76 yards and rushed for two touchdowns, scoring on a 35-yard touchdown reception. Benjamin Robinson and Antonio Harris earned two sacks each by game’s end. Wise faces the battered and bruised Laurel Spartans this Saturday, and they should have no problem earning another win.

Douglass defeated Forestville 18-0 in a defensive struggle.
The Eagles came into the game knowing that it would be a slugfest, but they were victorious and posted their fourth shutout in a row.
Douglass quarterback Devin Butler was efficient offensively, going five for 10 with a touchdown pass and run. Defensively, Charles Davis and Matthew Paul both led the Eagles in tackles with 11 each — contributing to the Eagles 6-1 record.
Northwestern trumps Laurel
Northwestern completely dismantled Laurel 42-12 on Saturday as the Wildcats slashed through the Spartans’ defense with a powerful ground game. Wildcats running back Darius Victor rushed for 289 yards on only 14 carries and four touchdowns. Northwestern has now reached its sixth win of the season, and the team looks to extend its two-game winning streak against High Point this week.
Surrattsville claims victory over Crossland
Surrattsville defeated Crossland 26-8. The Cavilers suffered their fourth loss of the season. Sophomore running back Amaru Major rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns. The Hornets are now 5-2, and they are looking forward to facing Forestville, which should be one of the best games to watch this weekend. Crossland will have to regroup and spark a comeback against Bullis this Saturday.
Bowie State suffers homecoming loss
Bowie State University lost a heartbreaking homecoming game in overtime against Virginia State University, 26-20. Keith Brown rushed for 120 yards and Jared Johnson threw two touchdown tosses, but it just wasn’t enough to come home with the win. The Bulldogs look to bounce back against Virginia Union this Saturday on the road.
