Tribute from Leo's high school teacher:

I met Leo when he was a sophomore.  Great kid- positive, energetic, a definite leader.  He was in the audition only group called Chamber Singers and he always had a featured role in our musicals.  I still laugh seeing him in his costume when he played Lord Farquaad in Shrek!

What is unique about Leo is his honesty and dedication.  You don’t need often see that in teenagers.  He was extremely intelligent and could hold conversations with students and adults.

I could always count on him.  He matured a great deal in high school from being a little goofy as a sophomore to more cool and collected as a senior.

I doubt I will ever forget him.

Lisa Itkin is the Choral Director at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. She taught Leo for 3 years.
