ANNAPOLIS – Navy defeated Memphis 42-28 on Saturday. Navy quarterback Will Worth put on a show after rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

He threw two touchdowns as well to help lead his team to victory. Navy slot back Romine Dishan also had a solid performance, rushing for 92 yards on seven carries. Navy will go on to face South Florida on Oct. 28.

The Bowie State University duo of graduate student Kevaugn Townsend and senior Nyme Manns have been selected as CIAA Linebacker and Receiver of the Week, respectively, by the conference’s Head Coaches and Sports Information Directors on Monday afternoon.

Townsend appeared all over the field on Saturday vs. Virginia Union, racking up a game-high 13 total tackles, which included one sack for nine yards. He recovered a fumble as well. Manns recorded game-highs of seven receptions for 132 yards and scored the Bulldogs’ opening points of the game.

Bowie State travels to Lincoln (Pa.) University this Saturday for a conference game against the Lions. Game time is set for 6 p.m. in Lincoln University Stadium.

Former DeMatha product and University of Maryland running back Lorenzo Harrison was recently named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Harrison rushed for a career-high 105 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in a win over Michigan State. Harrison is also the first Maryland freshman to score a touchdown in each of his first four games of the regular season.

University of Maryland defensive back William Likely will miss the remainder of the 2016 football campaign after suffering an ACL injury. Likely ranks second all-time at Maryland with 2,233 kickoff return yards. His two interception returns for touchdowns are tied for the most in Maryland history, including 170 yards after an interception in 2014 (the most ever for a Maryland Terrapin).
