It is unclear at press time as to whether or not the Cardinal will face criminal charges.

The pope suspended Archdiocese of Washington Cardinal Emeritus Theodore McCarrick from ministering in public and ordered him to pray and do penance until his canonical trial is completed.

“Pope Francis accepted his resignation from the cardinalate and has ordered his suspension from the exercise of any public ministry, together with the obligation to remain in a house yet to be indicated to him, for a life of prayer and penance until the accusations made against him are examined in a regular canonical trial,” the Vatican press office said Saturday.

Rockville graduate Jason Lomax has stepped down at Springbrook in order to accept the same position at his alma mater.

“It is with mixed emotions that I am stepping down as head varsity football coach at Springbrook to take the head coaching position at Rockville High School,” Lomax wrote in a letter addressed to the Springbrook Community. “This was a difficult decision that was made with my family in mind. The demands of coaching are very stressful and taxing on a family. This move allows me to spend more time with my family, coach at the school me and my wife graduated from, and coach in the community in which I live. This was a unique opportunity that my family could not pass up.”

How many gamblers out there are willing to wage he will last into a second term?

These are not questions ordinarily asked about incoming presidents but they are certainly warranted for this president.

Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Slavin resigned his membership from Woodmont Country Club after a reported controversy over whether Woodmont would offer President Barack Obama an honorary membership.

The New York Post reported that some members from the predominantly Jewish Rockville country club do not want Obama to become a member because of his administration’s stance on Israel.

“Whether that’s a fact or not, it has put a stain on the country club this – wonderful institution,” Slavin said.
